Ooru
Pronunciation: oo-roo
Basic information
Species: Cuban giant owl
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ooru has russet feathers with dark brown speckles. She has long featherless legs which she uses for digging and running. Her wings are small which gives her some difficulties with flying. Ooru has large, dark amber eyes. She is about two feet tall, smaller than the rest of her species (they are usually about three feet tall).
Personality: Ooru is friendly and energetic when others trade fairly with her, but if someone attempts to trick her, she will try to pluck their eyes out. With her loud, twittering voice, she is able to call out that she's around from pretty far distances. Sometimes, she calls out just to listen to the sound of her own voice. Ooru doesn't really like to get attached to others, she wants to think of all her customers as equals.

History
Childhood: As a hatchling, Ooru spent almost all of her childhood in a warm nest. Her parents hardly bothered to teach her life lessons and how to survive on her own. They didn't want their daughter to leave the nest. Because Ooru's parents never taught her anything useful--other than flight(which is hard enough as it is for the owl)--she doesn't know how to hunt. They both still loved her very much, they gave her a feathery headdress made from their downy feathers. When she first left the nest, Ooru didn't know how she was going to continue. The owl met a rogue species she didn't know one night. He told her that if she gave him the headdress, he would give her meat in exchange. Ooru had no idea what this rogue wanted with the feathers, but she agreed. This started her trading career. The female wanted to know more about her world and find more things to trade, so she few away from where she grew up and found the peninsula. Ooru was excited to hear that many creatures lived on the landscape, this meant more food for her.
Adulthood: Ooru has come to the peninsula after staying in the mountains to collect items to trade. She made her way to Silvestre Pride, and traded a few things with their leader. She met a terror bird by the name of Wasp, and gave him a coppery stone in exchange for berries. Ooru then traveled to the plains to look for bones to trade and found a large tooth half buried in the ground. She tied a strip of old rabbit hide to it, and wears it around her neck.
What Ooru Trades
Ooru will trade anything for meat or other items an animal might posses. She usually has many types of bones, skulls, herbs, shiny things, and an assortment of odd items (like the rabbit pelt with feathers she gave to Yuura). She also has rocks smoothed down by weathering, and a few rare flowers and berries that could be used to color things or use as war paint. Ooru dares to sell poisons to those customers that need to take care of someone. Some of these poisons can paralyze someone, make them terribly sick, and kill. She trades the poison for a high price, and will usually ask the animal what they can give her along with food. Be careful when trading with this owl; if she feels she can't trust you, then she'll trick you into buying something completely useless. Also, stealing would be very hard because she keeps her items in a pelt on her back. Ooru usually trades at night (because that's when owls are awake), but there are a few times where she will trade in the daytime.
