Personality
Most end up intimidated when they hear of a name like X the Firetamer. Considering fire is a monster that consumes everything that lives, one who could tame it must be fierce right? Well it would be those animals that get surprised when they meet Fiammetta. Fiammetta is hardly aggressive, and prefers not to be, as she believes it's best a non-violent solution is better then a "Burn someone alive" solution. She was taught well by her mother, and has vast knowledge. She doesn't fear fire, but respects it. She considers it her partner, as she finds it aids her more then it threatens her.
The knowledge Fiammetta was taught by her mother also includes a philosophy called the circle of life (Dur obvious lion king inspiration.). She believes every living thing deserves respect, from harmless ants to the "Vicious beasts" called fire. As such Fiammetta highly dislikes killing for entertainment. Key word however is kill. She doesn't mind hunting for sport if the quarry isn't killed and left to rot.
In fact Fiammetta is often amused when she sees someone frightened or startled by a fire, especially if it's just a little flame. Fiammetta likes teasing her allies and friends, finding it amusing when another acts dumb (At least in her eyes.). Clever and Innovative, Fiammetta easily finds solutions to her problems, and as learned many different tactics. Along with the art of creating fire, she has learned to climb trees better by watching leopards climb and how to navigate through or near a uncontrolled fire by observing storks hunt near a bush fire. As a result of these strengths, Fiammetta is spunky, always ready to take on a new conflict.
Although she may often casually talk about her unique abilities in a conversation, Fiammetta is actually very secretive, as taught by her mother. It's easy to gain her trust and become her friend, but it's extremely difficult to become close enough for her to even think about telling her family's secrets. Even though she is generally obedient to those she agrees to follow, Fiammetta is willing to stand up if she disagrees to follow an order.
History
There once was a survivor of extinction that lived in Northern Africa. A Cave Lion named Adolfo, which meant noble wolf in Italian. This was because he was noble like a wolf. Unlike most other lion prides that prefer not to let outsiders join, Adolfo took in anyone in need. Though he always noticed that he seemed different from these other lions he took in. But then he stumbled upon a lone lioness that looked just like him. This lioness was Fiammetta's Mother, and she was apart of a long line of cave lions more intelligent then usual.
A line of lions that descend all the way to Italy, they were smarter then the average lion. One day, one of these lions discovered how to create and bend fire to his will, but also how to respect and avoid it. His secrets were passed down to his offspring, and his offspring to their offspring, and so on. Claudia, Fiammetta's Mother, liked Adolfo very much and one day, told him the secrets of her family. Eventually Claudia had become the Queen of Adolfo's pride, now called the Firetamer pride. In an unusual case for lions, Claudia and Adolfo had a monogamous relationship.
They had two cubs, a male named Ciriaco, and a female named Fiammetta. Fiammetta was the smaller of the two, and as such was granted her name, meaning "Little Fire." As the two clubs grew up, they had many playmates, due to Adolfo's unusual behavior of allowing any lion in need to his pride. Other pairs of lions would have cubs of their own, and the pride grew. Fiammetta was also taught by her Mother as she grew, learning of many things. These things included her family, their philosophy, how fire was wielded, and how once grown, she should seek a monogamous relationship.
When Fiammetta became 3 years old, her personality began to interfere with the usual life of lion. When her pride mates were resting after having eaten, she was exploring, creating, and playing. Sometimes she'd be scolded by her parents for being so active and running off when she should be getting some rest. (20 hours of the day to be exact, as lions do.) Eventually Fiammetta came to a realization: She wanted a different life. Not the one she was born into, which she found boring, but one of exploration.
So one day, she asked her parents if she could leave. They were a wise pair, and felt the young lioness could care for herself. Actually a bit proud of their daughter for having such ambitions to seek adventure, they agreed. Fiammetta thanked her parents, and left. When she thought of where to go, a feeling inside her made her go in a specific direction. That was the direction to Lazarus Peninsula, and eventually she arrived there.
